Overview: Imaging Tech Aide Central Transport Full Time ( 80 hours per pay period): Shift Hours; Days Coordinates patient flow for imaging services within our outpatient lobby, and provides support assistance/activities for the imaging division as needed. Will accept any combination of formal education and/or prior work experience sufficient to demonstrate possession of the knowledge, skill and ability needed to perform the essential tasks of the job, typically such as would be equivalent to a high school diploma or GED. Preference may be given to individuals possessing a HS diploma or GED. Minimum Experience : Two (2) years experience in health-related field. Demonstrates the ability to learn technical skills regarding protocol procedure and clinical patient assessment in the performance of diagnostic imaging support activities. Licensure Requirement : CPR certification Responsibilities: Position Accountabilities and Performance Criteria: 1. Prepares patients for imaging procedures, including: dressing patient, connecting patient to EKG, blood pressure, and pulse oximetry monitoring. 2. Demonstrates proficiency in anatomy/physiology terminology, procedural protocols, and imaging equipment so as to respond appropriately to physician or technologist requests during imaging procedures. 3. Provides for establishment and maintenance of sterile fields, instrumentation, and mechanical implementation used during imaging procedures. 4. Coordinates the smooth transfer of patients to and from imaging services. 5. Assists in the maintenance and effective use of all equipment and supplies in the imaging department. 6. Under the supervision of licensed staff: positions patient, advances/pulls wires and catheters, manipulates digital imaging equipment. 7. Disinfects and sterilizes exam rooms and equipment. 8. Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, quality assurance programs, and radiation safety standards. 9. Explains a variety of necessary information to the patient/family member, such as: consent for treatment, MRI questionnaire, and procedure explanation. 10. Assist with burning patient CDs, transporting patients, assisting in exam room, and providing statistical data as needed. 11. Serves as inter-departmental communication resource. 12. Actively participates in a variety of special projects and assignments relating to primary responsibility (cross training, inservices, and quality improvement activities). 13. Functions as a member of the imaging service team. 14. Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
